ImageShack your file host
ImageShack your file host
ImageShack is the worlds 5th biggest photo-hosting site according to Hitwise, behind direct competitor Photobucket and the photo sharing communities Yahoo! Photos, Webshots Community, and Kodak Gallery.
It ranks ahead of Flickr and another direct rival: Slide. Known for its underwhelming interface, simplicity, and a free ad-supported business model, ImageShack owes much of its success to MySpace - Hitwise reported that 50% of ImageShacks traffic in May 2006 came from MySpace users.
However, they do support other platforms: the company has a custom uploader for Friendster, and encourages use on Windows Live Spaces, Xanga, Fotolog and thousands of other community sites.

ImageShack makes the process of uploading and sharing images extremely simple - theres no need to register and only a few fields to fill in. Almost all image formats are accepted and Flash (swf) is an added bonus, with the only restriction being that files must be smaller than 1.5MB. When the image is uploaded, ImageShack brings up a page which provides two different types of hotlinks to forums, an HTML code for websites, blogs and MySpace, and a link to the page itself.
Like virtually all its competitors, ImageShack offers a quick route to creating a Flash-based photo slideshow - and like the image hosting service, the process is extremely simple. Users can supply image URLs, a Flickr username, or use the web-based uploader. Once this is done, ImageShack creates a slideshow with smooth transitions.
