Vulnerability Details
These updates resolve type confusion vulnerabilities that could lead to code execution (CVE-2015-7645, CVE-2015-7647, CVE-2015-7648).Whether you want to actually reinstall Flash is another matter.
CVE-2015-7645 was the security vulnerability being actively exploited on the Internet.
NOTE: Adobe AIR and Shockwave have NOT yet been updated with this patched version of Flash! Therefore, Do No Use AIR or SHOCKWAVE at this time.
As usual: Keep in mind that Adobe AIR and Shockwave both integrate Flash and remain vulnerable to its security exploits until they too are updated. In the case of Shockwave, Adobe has been outrageously lax in keeping it up-to-date. I highly recommend trashing Shockwave permanently and doubt youre going to miss it.

Install Adobe Flash Player 10(beta) on Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron
Removing existing version of Adobe Flash Player
If you already have Adobe Flash installed you can remove it by issuing the following commands in the terminal window( Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal )
sudo apt-get remove flashplugin-nonfree
Now we download the v.10 Package :
wget http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashplayer10/flashplayer10_install_linux_051508.tar.gzand now
tar -xvzf flashplayer10_install_linux_051508.tar.gzThis will extract files in directory install_flash_player_10_linux. Now to install finally issue the following commands :
sudo mv install_flash_player_10_linux/libflashplayer.so /etc/alternatives
and
sudo ln -s /etc/alternatives/libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/xulrunner-addons/plugins/or alternatively if you want to use installer that came with Adobe Flash Player 10 to install Adobe Flash Player issue the following command :
cd install_flash_player_10_linux
and
./flasplayer-installer
After completing above step start Firefox(if firefox was running close it and start again) and in address bar type "about:plugins" you should see Adobe Flash Player 10 listed as shown in the figure below :
To remove the package and Install Flash Player v.9 issue the following commands in the terminal window :
sudo rm /etc/alternatives/libflashplayer.so
and
sudo rm /usr/lib/xulrunner-addons/plugins/libflashplayer.so
and finally to install Flash Player v.9 back :
sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree

As ever, running software over the Internet can be dangerous. The most dangerous software to use are the Adobe Flash, Adobe Shockwave and Oracle Java browser plug-ins. If you dont need them, either trash them or pull them out of your system and put them intp a disabled folder. You can find all of these plug-ins here:

Adobe Acrobat and Reader can be dangerous if youre using them to read PDF files youve downloaded from the Internet. The safest way to run either of these programs is with Enhanced Security (Security Enhanced) turned ON in their preferences. Even then, as noted in the CVE list above, that may not protect you from malicious PDF files.
Also dangerous, for the same reason, are the Adobe PDF Viewer plug-ins for web browsers. As with the other dangerous plug-ins noted above, either trash them or put them into a disabled folder. If you have a specific reason to use the Viewer plug-ins, then youre stuck with them. However, for the vast majority of people there is NO reason to use them. This tutorial can b used to flashing of dead phones.
BTW, this works for XP n Vista, x86 or x 64!!!
Tools Required:
1. Phoenix Service 2010 suite:Download Phoenix Service 2010
2. Navifirm NaviFirm V0.3:
Before Flashing:
- Backup your phone number and phone number of important personal information. If you want a clean installation, format your E: drive as well using the built in Nokia file manager .
Lets Start…….
->Run Phoenix Service Software installer.
> Start Installing Phoenix
-> Now (the boring part) run Navifirm (it takes an hour or more to download the whole patch)…
Note: the reason i don’t use the builtin image downloader because it downloads older versions, from my experience.
After the files downloaded, copy them to C:Program FilesNokiaPhoenixProductsRM-XXXXXX - use your product code
->Now Run Phoenix 2009
[if you have dead phone use Dead Phones Flash? To being able to tick dead phone flash delete the usb connection in phoenix. then make it go into "no connection". then open the rm-xxx. the dead usb flashing will now be enabled.]
->Turn on the phone (it will start in offline mode because there is no SIM card inside).->Plug in the USB cable to both the phone and the computer.
->When prompted, select “PC Suite” from the menu list on the phone.
->Wait for *all* drivers to fully install themselves before proceeding. You will see the driver icon disappear when it is complete.

-> Now Choose File Then Manage Connection
->###### “New”
->###### USB, and then ###### Next
->It will then search your USB ports for the phone. When it finds it, hit Finish
->Once it has finished scanning, ###### apply, then ###### close.

-> Once finished scanning, you can see your model of phone and other details at the bottom screen.
-> From the Flashing menu, choose Firmware Update.
->Wait for Phoenix to continue talking to the phone. You will see some information scroll by in the firmware Update window.->###### Browse
->See the product code section.U should find ur product code in that column.If u see “ur” product code,well and good.
-> but if u dont see ur code,or dont see anything for that matters,press on the “…” in the given prCode section.You should see RMxxx-blabla, select that. Variant version =00. I will select “Refurbish” so that it will restore it to factory set (Clean and default C:).
->Press Start
Ignore the warning and click YES
The flashing process takes about five minutes to complete. The first few steps ensure connectivity to the phone.After it verifies connectivity,Phoenix will automatically restart the phone.
Once it has completed (a dialog box will popup saying it has completed successfully), you may close Phoenix,unplug the USB cable, and restart your phone. It should startup with the firmware you flashed to it.
