Ikan Tuna Seharga 1,7 M - Seekor Tuna Bluefin berhasil terjual seharga 1,7 miliar rupiah atau sekitar 1,76 juta dolar AS, pada lelang ikan di Tokyo, beberapa hari lalu.
Dikutip dari huffingtonpost, Selasa (8/1), lelang ikan di pasar ikan Tsukiji Tokyo ini berhasil dimenangkan oleh Kiyoshi Kimura, Presiden Kiyomura Co, yang mengoperasikan jaringan restoran Sushi-Zanmai.
"Harga tuna ini memang cukup tinggi, tapi ini baik bagi layanan kebutuhan ikan di Jepang. Saya berencana melayani kebutuhan ikan untuk pelanggan setiap sabtu malam," ujar Kimura kepada kantor berita Kyodo.
Sebanyak 80 persen ikan tuna bersirip biru yang berhasil ditangkap di seluruh dunia, sebagian besar dikirim ke Jepang untuk dikonsumsi. Jepang merupakan salah satu negara pengkonsumsi ikan yang tinggi.
Sayangnya, disisi lain dikhawatirkan populasi Tuna Bluefin akan semakin sedikit bila hanya ditangkap tapi tidak dilakukan pengembangbiakan selanjutnya.
Untuk itu, Komisi Internasional untuk Konservasi Tuna Atlantik, atau ICCAT, memilih untuk mempertahankan batas menangkap ketat pada spesies. Ada pembatasan jumlah kapal dan memancing.
